NASCAR AI

I have noticed that the computer opponents in NASCAR always are right
together in a single line even after the race is halfway over. I have
been racing against 35 opponents and after 150 laps they are all
within a 15 seconds of each and not spread out over the whole track.
The main reason I have noticed this is when you come up to lap a car.
The computer never lets you get and keeps driving his same line even
though the car could be actually 1,2 or 3 laps down already.  This
starts causing me tons of grief.

One a side note:  What determines pit location?  Is it your qualifying
place or is it random like the manual says?  I always no matter what
have the first pit when entering pit row.

What will be fixed in the 1.2 version of NASCAR?

Thanks.

This is a bug at some of the tracks and they have a patch at their ftp
site ftp.std.com

Look under the directory /vendors/papyrus

This is one of those occassions when the manual went to print before the
program was completed.  The game is right and the manual is wrong.  I
for one am not sure I really want to see pit locations other than the
first or last one.  I can't seem to get all four wheels of my car to
turn side ways so I can get into my pit like a crab.  I've watched some
of the AI cars do it this way.  I also have to lower my steering lock
for use with my T1 and have to backup on the tighter tracks to get out
my pit.
