S2 multiplayer skill bug ??

by Barry R Smit » Mon, 13 Jan 1997 04:00:00

I've noticed a strange problem in Screamer2 and was wondering if I've got
some option set wrong: In single player games I usually play with skill
level 'rookie' cos I like to smash around with the other cars and still
catch them up if I make the occasional mistake (!).  Well, whilst playing
multiplayer (eg 2 human LAN players, 2 cpu cars) the cpu dudes are
certainly NOT rookie, despite the skill setting (rookie set on both PC's).
Usually they just scream ahead of both of us.  This is a real pity, cos it
spoils the multiplayer race somewhat.  I have the patch that VIE released
but haven't tried installing it yet (the readme file only mentions 2 bugs
that it fixes).  So, is this a bug or a 'feature' ?  Or just some dumb
mistake of mine?  Oh, and another thing, why no cool multiplayer replays
?!?  Apart from those things, I'm having lots of fun with the game.

I've noticed this as well, so I guess it is a feature! Don't think
that the patch will help...

thanks for the reply.  it's funny how such a small bug/feature can spoil
things. i can imagine some really great action with 2 players making life
hell for the cpu rookie drivers, heh heh! oh well...  i guess i
could mail VIE about it.  surely an easy 'bug' to fix.

cheers,
bazzzza.

!!  maybe i'm just incredibly bad at the game...?  i shall practise more
and tell u if things improve!
