SCGT - ALMS Upgrade vs. Service Pack 3.0

by Jay » Thu, 06 Apr 2000 04:00:00

Hi,

I saw on www.gtinsider.com that they have a new ALMS download, 32 meg's
which adds all the cars in that series!

If I download it, do I still need the service pack 3.0 for SCGT ?? Or
does the ALMS patch replace it?

Anyone know?

Thanks!

ALMS is really a comprehensive carset more than a patch.  It has very
comprehensive veh files that make the racing as close to the real world
as possible.
SP 3.0 has a ton of independant  cars, plus the replacing of the gtq
cars with a Trans Am division.  And it has several fixes for bugs and or
features.  While neither is neccessary, both add the sim.
With the sp3.0 you will have to find many of the sound files as lots
of them were not included.  Theres a file called scgtsoundcheck.zip that
lists where most sound files can be found.
The Alms patch came out just before the Audi and BMW LMP cars were
completed so those are not in it and the Panoz open top has been
upgraded by it's author.  So even with the ALMS patch, you still need a
few more dloads.
