GPL and SB AWE64

Hi All,

After I 'upgraded' form W95 to W98 GPL worked fine, but when I needed to
reinstall GPL 3 months ago I suddenly got the message 'invalid CD'.
Sierra tech support explained this as being a language conflict between
Installshield and Windows and were unwilling to look furhter into it.
DAMN SIERRA TECH SUPPORT!

Now 3 months later I had to reinstall Windows due to some problems and
guess what! GPL installed fine! There was no language conflict. I was so
happy it finally worked again, I didn't even bother to properly install
all my hardware. I just used all the standard drivers Windows installs
during setup and GPL ran like dream.

After three days of nearly non-stop driving around in my Ferrari I
thought it was time to properly install all hardware. And now, after
installing the latest drivers for my Soundblaster AWE64, GPL constanly
crashes! I'm sure it's the soundcard, because when I remove it in the
device manager and launch GPL everything works fine. But you all know
it's impossible to drive well if you can't hear the car. Is there anyone
who knows how to solve this problem?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.   I miss GPL!

Thanks,
Johan.

Try going to Start-Settings-Control Panel-Multimedia-Advanced and
decreasing the hardware acceleration. The same thing happened to me
after installing the new reference drivers for another type of sound
card and this was the only way I could run GPL.before reverting to the
older drivers.
