A friend (Lyman) and and I hooked up on NASCAR 2 last night. He has a
"Daytona" (Talladega renamed) and I don't. I have Talladega with no
restrictor plate; his Talladega has a plate. Anyways, I call him. He
chooses Talladega to run (HIS Talladega, with plate). We get int o the
track, no practice, no qualifying, 2 cars (me and him). We take our pac
elap, adn come around for the green. Pace car in, we (well, I) take
off. I LEFT HIM in the dust. He says to me (over voice phone line),
"You got Talladega set for no plate?"
I say, "Yeah..." (because I'm practicing for our first race).
He asks me how fast I'm running going into turn 3; I tell him, "About
223..."
"That's interesting," he replies. See, it turns out that one car can
run with no plate and the other can run with the plate. Didn't think
you could do that. Thought that the answering computer controlled the
track parameters. Apprently, it doesn't have any effect on the plate
setting though.
Can anyone tell us if there is a way to keep this from happening...?
