MOMO and CH pedals question

by Dino » Sat, 09 Nov 2002 10:03:22

I've been using a LWFF/CH pedals combo for a few years but decided to
purchase a MOMO before they become extinct, I placed the LWFF pedal wiring
harness into the CH set. General opinion seems to be that the MOMO pedals
are better than the LWFF's but doubt that I'll be happy with them.
My question Is if the MOMO pedal wiring harness/plugs/connections are the
same...or similar to the LWFF's?  I'm hoping I won't have to hardwire the
CH's again.

Thanks,
D Noe

I found that I had to rewire the pedals with the Momo. The LWFF pedal
harness was not compatible with the Momo wheel.

I've made an adapter that lets you use MS Pedals on a MOMO wheel without
modifying anything. This way you don't have to "destroy" anything and you
can simply remove the adapter and use the MOMO with it's original pedals if
you want to. If you put an RJ11 (6pin telephone jack) connector on the wire
from the CH pedals, you can probably use the adapter as is. I can sell you
just the circuit board for the adapter or an assembled adapter with or
without USB cable. I will soon set up a web page with pictures an schematics
on this. You can find some pictures here:
http://forum.racesimcentral.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=44932 but it's in
a Norwegian forum.
If you want to I can post more information on how the MOMO pedals are wired.
The problem with the MOMO is that the Power is plugged into the pedal set,
and there is a "3 ended" wire harness that's attached to the pedal set (no
connector) and connects to the wheel (DB25) and the PC's USB port.

General opinion seems to be that the MOMO pedals

I have no problems with my Momo pedals.  Just make sure you run out to
Sportmart or whatever and get yourself a squash ball.  Replace the brake
pedal spring with it for much better pedal response.  The stock spring is
too weak, but that's the only issue I've run across...

Thanks guy's for the input, gues I'll give the MOMO pedals a good trial
before hardwiring them to the CH's or having Jone send an adaptor across the
sea.
