Why is it that the arguably most brilliant sportsbike simulation to ever
hit the PC has such a minor profile online?  Almost no fan sites or
addons...did EA ever release a SDK or any tools?

Yup. SBK2001 is my clear favourite over GP500.

Ditto,
I think the bike handling on SBK2001 is much better. Although I don't ride
racing bikes, I do ride bigish real life bikes like Honda's 900cc Fireblade
and to me SBK2001 really feels you are riding a real bike.

They seemed to have cracked the track format enough to convert some
tracks to F1C (Sugo for Prototype-C for example).  I sure wish they'd
use the knowledge to get the IoM into SBK!

sbk is hard. There is "almost" no indication of "losing it" before it is too
late.

I've heard that Simbin's GTR2002-mod Imola and maybe Valencia too, were
converts from some motorbike sim, but don't know if it was GP500 or SBK2001.
Can anyone confirm?

Too bad that Simbin started by converting & modding, but then strictly
prohibit modding THEIR product with encryption and generally threathening
modders from trying to break any encryption.

GP500.  Much better overall for physics.  It's the GPL of bike sims.
SBK looks fantastic, but I prefer GP500 because it just rides a lot
better.  I race bikes myself so I know a few things and GP500 is my
pick.

gp500store.co.uk  has a heap of great mods.  MotoGP and a heap of
tracks.  The Ducati is amazingly great fun.  wheels spining in 3rd and
4th gears!

I take this as not an answer to the question I asked, although you replied
to my post.

What resolution do you run SBK at?

I just tried it out on my new rig, and at any resolution over 1024x768,
it doesn't render part of the screen on the right, so the 3D (track,
bikes, objects) are OK, but no bike status or pit board.

6800 Ultra on 81.95 drivers.
