Is the demo performance indicative of the full version?

It runs choppy on my system:

AMD X2 3600
7900GS
2GB RAM

Medium settings, 1440X9000

After downloading this and then reading the forums, yes it is
indicative. some on the boards say you need a least a processor that
runs at 3 ghz.x2 or better and a 8800 video card.

Really? I don't think thats acceptable to do that. There's no warning at all
during installation.

Although I've been pretty lucky with StarFarce, its only corrupted 1 of my
optical drives....

Yeah, looks like I will keep playing GTR 2 and Trackmania.

Even Need for Speed Carbon runs better than Mcrap.

BTW, I am talking about the full retail version of the sim, not the demo
version.

I bought it and so want to install it but it comes with Starforce copy
protection and I have a DVD-RW and a CD-RW and I am afraid it is going
to ruin my hardware again like GPL did!

Bummer!

I know Starforce sucks but the way prices are going, the games will be more
expensive than the actual drives!

Maybe they should throw in an optical drive with Starforce games in
future......

I'd install the game, but instead it is going to sit on the shelf or
in the garbage can as my PC is also my business PC and it's how I earn
a living.  From now on, before buying any software or a game, I am
going to check some websites to see if starforce is included!

Thanks,

Nice rig

Just an update, I turned res down to 1280X960 and it runs much better.

Definitely need to turn down the bloom effects a notch or two

I thought about looking for something at GCW but was unsure at what
point Starforce gets installed.

Thanks!!!

Do you know if backing up the registry and makin a system restore
point efore the install of Dirt  would protect my dvd-rw and cd-rw
drives?  I am pretty darn sure that Grand Prix Legends with Starforce
destroyed them or made them inoperatble!

The GCW site has always given me fits.  There is no link to download
the no dvd exe, it just highlights and does nothing.  If I click on
the File Archive, a text box opens with some code in it!!!
