Nevermind, had to use IE instead of FF.  Hope I have something that
will open a .RAR file (why is that used instead of .ZIP files?)

Thanks,

This is the second time I've read this here and it is totally wrong.
GPL came out, ruled the world, and went away long before Starforce was
invented.  Maybe you mean GTL, Grand TOURING Legends.

My mistake!  G  *T* L, not GPL.

GPL ruined your DVD / CDR drives!!!! Erm, how exactly?

I've installed GPL on about six different pcs over the last few years and
its not done any damage to any of them.

Likewise, I've installed several pc games which use StarForce and its not
done any damage to any of my pc's. ISTR that there was a compatibility
issue with StarForce and McAfee anti virus a couple of years ago, but as
long as I disabled McAfee before running the game, everything was fine.

I think you will find that if you are having hardware "issues" with GPL
or StarForce it will almost certainly be a hardware problem or a program
compatibility or set-up / installation problem.

Hope you get the problem sorted out....

Hmm, I'll try that res and see how it goes, but I'm not really noticing
any problems with 1400 x 900, as the sim runs great and FPS are good.

What are bloom effects?

Thanx

2 of mine. My latest PC build is going to stay Starforce free.

You could lower the res a bit. Oh, wait, you are using an LCD so it will
look like ***if you do that. That's why CRT's are so superior to LCD's.

The optical drives already are cheaper than most games. My latest OEM
Samsung optical DVD drive has Lightscribe, SATA and DVD-RAM and only cost me
$39.99 CAD, most games cost $59.99 CAD.

I use FF at GCW with no issues, but I use the noscript plugin for FF so no
funny business can go on. To extract zip files just get 7zip or WinRAR, you
are supposed top pay for WinRAR though and 7zip is free and does the same
job.

A type of lighting effect that makes light sources bloom out. That's the
best way I can describe it. Some games it looks good but some overdo it and
it washes out details.

Is that what it is?  The graphics are good, but they look too
smooth, fuzzy, and washed out.
