Quickshot Joystick Switcher Problem

Quickshot Joystick Switcher Problem

by Nathan Wo » Sun, 15 Mar 1998 04:00:00

Hey all,

Well, I finally found a joystick switcher at the local Tandy (aka
Radio Shack). Its made by Quickshot (who arent _that_ bad), and it
plugs in up to 4 joysticks. What a ripper. And all for about US$30.
Now i can have my GP1, my Gravis Joystick and my gamepad, and just
switch between them......not so.
I cant seem to get my Windows to acknowledge anymore than ONE
joystick in the config at any time. I would love to just switch
controllers in my control panel, but it doesnt seem to be possible. I
either have my joystick connected, and delete the GP1 off the screen,
or vice versa.....why cant I just select the different joystick config
and start playing???? What am I missing here? Is it right under my
nose and I am completely missing it?
Does Thrustmaster's Pro Panel help? or is it simply for the wheel
config?

*mildly frustrated*

Win95 will only recognize one joystick.  You have to remove and add
when you switch controllers.  The switcher is only good for not having
to plug and unplug the connector every time.  Read this manual for a
good idea what you can and cannot do with a switcher.  It saved me
$40.  http://www.joyswitch.com/manual.htm

Yeah, from what others have told me, this is the problem. Only having
one joystick/wheel config at a time is a bit of a sh*t....
At least I dont have to crawling all around the floor to connect and
disconnect anymore.....
