When I bought my Thrustmaster T2, I heeded their warning that I should
have a variable speed game card, rather than using the joystick port
on my Sound Blaster. The only card my local store had at the time was
the Quickshot QS-163. This setup has worked fine in DOS for ICR2 and
N2.
I've downloaded the TOCA demo, which, of course, must be run under
Windows, but I can't get Windows 95 to recognize the Quickshot!! So
no joystick.
The Quickshot site has a link to setting up the QS-163 in Win95, but
all I get is "File not found".
Can anyone tell me how to get Win95 to recognize the QS-163?
Would I be OK to reconnect the game port in the Sound Blaster, or is a
dedicated game card truly necessary?
B-T-W, one benefit to using the keyboard with the TOCA demo (which
looks cool) was accidently finding out how to run more than two laps
at Donnington. I messed up my braking into the left-right chicane
that leads onto the "GP" section - the hairpin behind the pits - and
slid straight on scattering cones. I drove straight through, making
the right-left chicane - which is part of the short circuit - and
rejoined on the pit straight. I was told I had missed the lap and was
dropped, quite rightly, to 16th place. I noticed that the AI cars
were still racing, so continued on. As long as I didn't complete two
"proper" laps I could run as long as I wanted. Now if only I could
use the T2.
Thanks for any help.
