Good Afternoon all,

There was mention here recently of a program (I thought it was CH or
Gravis, but I can't find it at their sites) that used a tray Icon and
allowed you to toggle between Joysticks/Wheels.

It was needed because most games will only recognize Joystick 1 (Hey,
developers.  It's been 12 years.  How about writing games to see the
_other_ joystick slots that are available?).

This allowed one to have a wheel and a joystick both connected (device 1
and 2) and it would 'toggle' them so you didn't have to monkey around in
the Joystick CPL every time you needed to switch.

Anyone remember what, and where, this is?

Thanks!

-Larry

You mean a thing called "Quickjoy" - available from the CH products site

Get their joystick switch box while you're at it, or the one from
www.joyswitch.com.
I have the latter, good stuff unless you have a digital MS stick.

The Quickjoy app is great. Look for QJsetup.exe at
http://www.chproducts.com/supp-pc.html#anchorUTILS

You posted a search for D3D. I also use that for the same thing you want it
for. Can't find where I got it from, but happy to email it to you (about
250K zipped).
The email address in your posting doesn't work though. Let us know if you
want it.

Even with the Joyswitch, you still have to re-define your controller when you

I thought of this, but it's my understanding that Joystick switch boxes
don't work well with Microsoft (and some other) devices that use the
Midi outputs for Force-Feedback, etc...

Thanks!

Our wonderful caregivers in Redmond have deemed it unnecessary
in Win95 to have more than one joystick at a time connected (even
though they make it LOOK like you can have many attached.  Using
cascading joyswitches you can have up to 16 joysticks attached and
switch between them on the fly. Once you've switched joysticks (by
just pressing Button 1 on the one you wish to use now), just click on
the icon in systray and click on which device you've selected and go.
Takes about 5 seconds.
it will NOT, tho, support force feedback or digital sticks.
I use a TM Pro, Saitek X36, TM Top Gun and a "6-shooter."

I have reviewed (on the Control Center, link below)  the Alphadactyl Joynet
Gameport hub.  It supports all MS controllers, MIDI, digital analog and
other controllers plugging into a 15 pin port.  It also allows you to join
controllers so you can have pedals, a wheel, joystick and a yoke on the
Joynet and select whichever you would like to join (wheel/pedals,
stick/pedals, yoke/pedals, etc.).  Its a stellar product I could not do
without

Cascading?  Ok, what'd I miss?  I've never seen that wording in the control
panel, and I don't have a 'joystick' icon in the systray...  I have a T2, a
gamepad, and a Battle Gear joystick.  It would be great if I didn't have to
re-define them everytime I wanted to change...
