CMR3 Demo - Help setting up Act-Labs

Ok_  I give up..  Trying to set up an Act-Labs FF wheel..  I have applied
the patch, but the best I can do is have the demo start with the brakes
applied.  I can accelerate, but it's as if I am riding the brake as I back
off the gas slightly.  Only way to describe it sorry.  Does someone have a
step by step  method to have both the brake and gas pedals work separately
in the demo or will I have to wait for the actual game.  Also can someone
please explain under the controller setup for the wheel how the last panel
for calibrating the axises  works.  I just don't get it..   My setup if
applicable is XP-Sp1.
TIA.

I found that I'd lost calibration on my thrustmaster wheel so it was on or
off, I recalibrated in Windows and re-installed the demo then the patch
before trying to set up the wheel/pedals in CMR 3. Pre patch the
wheel/pedals were backwards ie pressed brake took off the throttle. I can
change these things in the Thrustmapper tool, but had to put them back
aftert the patch.

Have you set the flip pedals thing.

Tried the flip pedals option.  Best I seem to do is accelerate and if I
remove my foot off the gas it brakes hard and then goes into reverse so I
have to watch my foot.  Still dont get how the last screen having to do with
calibration works for this game.  For Y axis and Z axis I show the red line
all the way to the right, but dont know how to calibrate it or whatever with
the left and right arrow keys.  My X axis redline is right dead on in the
middle which I take it from the way my steering reacts  in the game means no
dead zone to speak.

The white lines on each axis are the dead zone limit so on the steering axis
you have to have the central white lines as close as possible to either side
of the red line. The outside red lines on that axis are the saturation which
is the percentage of full wheel movement you want before maxing out on the
steering. If you want relatively slow steering these need to be at the ends
if you want faster steering you want them closer to the centre.

If the throttle for example is full on in the game you need to get it so the
red line in the settings is at the opposite end. This can normally be done
in the control panel by simply calibrating the pedals or by some application
(like Thrustmapper for TM wheels) which can configure the values produced by
the wheel. The white lines here are the dead zones for the free play at
either end of the travel.  If you're using combined axes for brake/throttle
the red line will be in the centre and the brake and throttle pedals will
move the line left or right. With split pedals you get both axes used and
the travel goes from left to right. I suspect you are getting right to left
travel. This is what you need to get set the other way around.

You have to go into the control panel and select game controllers.
There you can get to the Forc RS and it's properties. The split axis
option is located there.

One thing I read a while ago and try to remember to do is turn the
wheel from left full lock to right full lock to calibrate the wheel in
the immersion software. Also, depress each pedal. I'm not 100% sure if
this helps but it seems to give the wheel a more consistent behavior.

The deadzone and saturation levels had me screwed up until I did some
experimentation. too. ;)
