Dang, meeting the old MARA guys again would be fun. I checked with
"Dresdner Bank" in Germany, and they seem to offer pre-paid credit
cards for 30 Euros / year which would add to the total iRacing tally,
of course. Maybe iRacing would be more fun for me if I met more
familiar names online on a more regular basis. A friend of mine who's
never raced in iR before did a Skip Barber race last night under my
moniker (actually, we switched the drivers seat a couple of times
during the event) at Vir, and to see him enjoy himself quite a bit
even though he ran at the back of the field restored some of my faith
in DK et al.
He tested the "milk truck" that is the Solstice offline afterwards,
and had a much harder time keeping it on the track than the Skip
Barber. He wasn't exactly thrilled by the prospect of having to run
this car for several weeks before he'd be able to license the Skip
Barber trainer, though.
Also, it's really great to see RAS stirred back into some activity by
iR, whatever becomes of the project itself ;-)
All the best, Uwe
