How do I remove the 'dead zone' from my wheel?

How do I remove the 'dead zone' from my wheel?

by David Mocna » Sat, 28 Jul 2001 19:37:28

I just installed Windows98 SE and got myself a new wheel (Thrustmaster
Formula Pro Digital ... I think in the States it's called "Nascar Pro
Digital"). Anyway, I can't drive and feel like the car (in GPL) just does
not respond to subtle steering inputs. I'm sure it's the 5% deadzone in
dinput.dll that Microsoft put in as the wheel will not move (on the screen)
unless I move my steering wheel good 5% off center. Well I can't stand this
so can anyone tell me (or point me to) how do I set the deadzone to 0?

Please help as I can't drive untill I get this fixed :-(

http://www.wDX Tweaker Application:

DX Tweaker Application:
Description:
DX Tweak allows you to change calibration information and deadzone settings
of a DirectInput game controller and test the effect of the changes
directly. Read the Readme.txt for full details its operation.  This utility
works with Windows 95, 98, 98SE, and Me.

Does anyone know of something similar that will run on Windows 2000 ?
I tried DX Tweak, no joy :-(

And to answer to my question from elsewhere this one works with
Windows 2000. Tried it last night, the difference is startling, even
with just a joystick!

Cheers,

Ian.
