RT: Problems with some keyboard controls

by Jeff Vince » Thu, 28 Feb 2002 02:15:32

I've got Rally Trophy and have been having fun, but not all
keyboard controls work for me.  The following keyboard controls (from
the 1.00 README) don't work for me:
Handbrake                               -       Space
Reverse gear                            -       CTRL + Up arrow
Toggle rearview mirror                  -       M
Toggle on-screen gauges                 -       G
Reset car on track                      -       R

I'm using two joysticks set up in Windows as a "2-button flight
yoke with throttle) and using the X-axis for steering, the Z-axis for
throttle/brake, and the button for shift up/down.

I've fiddled a little with the RT control config app, but it
doesn't seem like the controls in question are available/configurable
to this config tool.  (I'm using the 1.01 RT patch.)

I'm running on WinME with DX8.0a and using a Voodoo 5500 card
("Aha! you need a new video card for the keyboard to work!" :).

Anyone have any ideas what may be wrong?  Thanks!

As Emily LaTella would say, "never mind". :)  I got this working.
I took one more look in the Config app and found that for keyboard
settings, the player was set to "unassigned" (hmm, how did that
happen?).  I've set it to "Player 1" and now I have a mirror!
