I played the first demo of Soda and I REALLY like it!  But I've been
hearing people say that it's horrible.  I think it will be real cool.
But everyone says it sucks?????

I have to say that SODA off road racing is quickly becoming my
favorite game.  If you've got a good wheel, the game is excellent.
Drifting through turns, countersteering, you really get the feel of
the track.

However ... I'm running a P233 with 40megs of ram, and I have a Verite
V1000 video card.  With all of that, the game gives me a low
framerate.

I noticed that there is demo version of this game included with the
NEW rendition chipped board; Diamond Stealth II.  Perhaps the game
runs smoothly on the new V2100?  I haven't heard yet, so I don't know.

If you've got the hardware to run it on, I say grab this game.  It's a
great sim.  If you don't have a speed demon computer, you'll be
dissapointed.

Sounds interesting. I'll give it a try when the 3dfx patch is
available.

You must have a rendition based card and a fast pc to get a decent
framerate.  It is a good simulation in that you have to do a lot of
work to control the cars and be competitive.  The best vehicle is the
buggy.  If you like ICR2 ROAD courses or GP2 you should like this sim.
It also has a built in course designer that is pretty cool.  Also it
takes a lot of work to get the right setup for each track and there
are no preset garage setups, so it takes a lot of trial and error.

I've got the game and think it is by far the best racing game to date. I am
running it on a 75  pentium with Screamin 3d card and it has smooth frame
rates (with trackside detail and sky details turned off). The games physics
seem right on the money, you could almost feel the dips and humps in the
track. The power slides are great, and you could "throttle steer". My T1
steering wheel won't work because SODA is a windows 95 game and it won't
recognize the wheel. Thrustmaster has an adapter that they will send to you
for free. I can't imagine how much like this game even having to make do with
joystick control, untill my adapter gets here. I wouldn't hesitate to
 reccoment this product.
