About 5 seconds after you remove it from the drive, in my experience.

You may be right, but don't sell the GeForce2 Pro with 4.5ns short. This
card kicks butt. It's very overclockable. I've got mine running at 265/500
(default is 200/400)and it tests faster then the average GeForce 2 Ultra on
3D Mark 2001. It even works great with F1 2001!!! LOL!!

What's a good URL for overclocking the 2 Pro?  And does that have any
potential side-effects, such as overheating/damage?

After reading this, I just went & tried it.  MSTS works just fine with
XP here, keyboard & all.  This seems to be the quickest/most stable
Windows platform I've run since Win 3.1.

Or when you lend your copy of Fleet Defender to a friend and he puts
one of the floppies on top of his printer.

A moment too late. I was bored so went out and bought XP today. Have
only installed a few games so far and they all run fine. Someone
posted that MS Train Sim loses the keyboard functioning under XP, well
it runs fine for me.

Yes, read my above post. Got XP today, Train Sim runs great for me
too. Don't know what that other guy's problem was.

Hell, I can't get MBTR to even work with 98se... Couldn't get it to recognize
my controller right(TSW2mod).

I have Steel Panthers, as well as a few *more* SSI games.  I've been a fan of
theirs from Apple II days...<g>

Yea good stuff. Do you have Combat Mission? Not by SSI, but a very
good tactical wargame.

It was two years ago, if you got the system XP is the way to go now.

Xp is way faster and more stable.

Now that WinXP is out, should I upgrade to Win2K?

Great!

Man, I'm still on my GeForce 256

Sod XP, I'm using it now. After using 2000 for a loong time, I can
safely say that XP is nothing special. it seems to run *slower* on
my 1.33ghz AMD than 2000 ever did, and thats *after* I disabled all that
stupid skins nonsense, and all the ***and services that load up by
default.

Don't waste your money on ram. 512 Meg is overkill as it is.

If you can 'aqquire' windows 2000, then I would definately suggest you
install it, with service pack 2, downloadable from microsofts site
(about 100 megs). It is MUCH more stable than 98se. I experienced no
problems with my millions of driving games and quake type games. As long
as you got all your drivers ready, you will be ok.

2000 also has the added bonus that it doesn't 'hide' any of the more
useful options, like XP does.
I found it MORE difficult setting up my network on XP with the so called
wizard than I did with the standard way on 2000.

Hope its been a help!
probably not :)
