Amazed I'm the first to say it (I may not be on r.a.s.)- but people
really should check this mod out.  A fantastic mod!
Only a couple of minor probs (LOD adjustment on distant cars make the
tires disappear - may be related to my graphics settings; some cars
get NASCAR engine sound - I think when the field is set above a
certain size).
Other think I don't like is NH's fault - I can't use my TM pedals with
my ActLabs RS - and these cars are *way* to touchy to use the stock AL
pedals (at least for me - that Auto Union is a *beast*!)
Any official forum for reporting issues/watching for new releases?
Any good info on the cars/drivers in the mod - the Auto Union and the
Mercedes are the only cars I know anything about (thanks to
Speedvision).

Are you happy now, John Bodin ;)?

Happy?  I'm ecstatic -- thanks Kendt!

:-D

The disappearing tires are connected to the level of detail settings,
I think.  You're dead-on about the car sounds as well, I believe.  The
pedal issue is inherent to Heat, IIRC -- it can only handle one
controller.  :-(

Try these sites for more info on the cars and drivers of the period:

http://www.kolumbus.fi/leif.snellman/main.htm

The section on "Cars" provided a lot of source material for this mod,
BTW.

;-)

Thanks again for the kind words, and I'm really glad that you like the
mod!

Actually I added multiple controller support to both Viper and Heat quite
some time ago--the 1.5f heat patch has it--it supports at least 4
controllers IIRC.  Good luck trying to find the patch from Hasbro/Infogrames
though... you can get them from our site at:
http://www.mgiracing.com/heatpatch15f.exe
(i forgot the viper link, but I'm sure it's "out there" somewhere... also
adds win2k/xp fixes for VR)

Fantastic!  Thanks Dave!  Why hasn't this made it into to Pits patch
for TPTCC?  Hey Jan Kohl, you paying attention ;)?
Off to have fun at Boardville - can't wait for the '50s GP mod.  Any
tracks from the era on the way?

Careful with the 1.5f patch, Kendt -- I believe there are some
problems with that when it comes to online play (according to what
I've read on the BHMS forums, anyway).

We'll be working on the cars and physics first for the '50s GP mod,
but hopefully we'll have some vintage tracks to go with that and the
upcoming Porsche Vintage Heat mod (550 Spyders, 356s, 911s, and 914s
from the '50s and '60s).

Drat.  that was the wrong link.  The correct patch is:
www.mgiracing.com/heatpatch15a.exe

That other was an "experimental" patch from some months ago, and is likely
to be incompatible with the official beta (?) patch for multiplayer.  The
1.5a should also have the controller support, although the 1.5f may have
better support for the ACT Labs GPL shifter (USB).
Please pretend the 1.5f never existed (this message will self-district in
fif*** seconds...)
