Copy the contents of the CD's "win98" dir or if space it tight, just the
cabs (the files that have extension .cab)
then open regedit
Modify this existing setting:
System Key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup]
Value Name: SourcePath
Data Type: REG_SZ (String Value)
Value Data: C:\windows\options\cabs
now it will not ask for CD it will just know where the cab files are...
BE FRIGGIN CAREFULL, type exaclty!
Here is the page I got the basic infor from...
http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/42/
then I modifed it above to reflect the windows\cabs location of the files
like we do when we setup laptops and stuff here at work.

> On the Win98SE CD, there should be a folder named CABS.

On the Win98 CD there should be a dir with a bunch of .cab files:
..
win98_55.cab 10/30/01 22:25 1 802 240
win98_56.cab 10/30/01 22:25 1 802 240
win98_57.cab 10/30/01 22:25 1 802 240
win98_58.cab 10/30/01 22:25 1 802 240
win98_59.cab 10/30/01 22:25 1 802 240
win98_60.cab 10/30/01 22:25 1 802 240
win98_61.cab 10/30/01 22:25 1 802 240
win98_62.cab 10/30/01 22:25 1 802 240
win98_63.cab 10/30/01 22:25 1 802 240
win98_64.cab 10/30/01 22:25 1 802 240
win98_65.cab 10/30/01 22:25 1 802 240
win98_66.cab 10/30/01 22:25 1 802 240
win98_67.cab 10/30/01 22:25 1 802 240
setup.exe
etc...
Just copy *everything* that is in that dir in to another dir on your
hard drive. They total about 120MB.
Better yet, install 98 from the Win98 folder after you have copied to to the
HD, and when you install 98 next time, it will never ask for the CD again!
