I merely said that the original poster might get better results to his
question if he asked it in the proper group. Why ask a question about
installing Win95 on a laptop here?
But then maybe you didn't get what OT meant-- Off Topic.
Again, though, everyone seems to think that by adding OT to your header, you
can discuss anything. If that were the case, then there wouldn't be half a
million newsgroups. If I have a question about Win98 or any such OS, I'd go
to that newsgroup, where I'd be certain to fair better.
Here you ask questions about racing. Would you go to a Win95 newsgroup and
ask a question specifically related to a racing sim? I don't think so.

Sorry about the off topic cross-post, but I do have an interest in this
since I accidentally tossed out my Win95 disk, forgetting that I needed it
for a clean install of Win98 Upgrade. So your advice is that when the
installation prompts for a qualifying prior version of Windows you type
"c:\>DIR>NTLDR"? Will this trick work with my situation, where I'm
installing Win98 Upgrade? (The proposed installation is a direct result of
my hardware upgrade to an AMD Thunderbird, just to give some semblance of
ontopicality.)

I don't worry about such things normally, but it does seem ridiculous
to post to all those groups AND ras.

Again, my appologies.
