Up the tire temps, run 0 toe to minimize rolling resistant, drop the
spoiler as low as you can handle and make up for the loose condition
caused by this and cool tires by stiffening the front springs, and set
the gear ratios so that you're almost but not quite hitting the rev
limiter at the end of the straights. Then add grill tape until you
start blowing engines on the second lap (unlike N4 you can't run 100%
grill tape in Q everywhere). Not hard and fast rules but this works
for me. Everyone has different tastes in a setup, so play around with
different theories (like the ones in the SASCAR guide or on the Team
Lightspeed site).
The guides on the SASCAR site that Dave posted are pretty sweet, but I
disagree heavily with the recommended settings for spoiler and sway
bars (and as a result of the weird sway bars, the roll couple as
well).
