GPL with RIVA TNT in OpenGL less that 1 fps ! Can anyone help

Can anybody help ?? just going back to GPL after a couple of months
break, but (big but) I downloaded the opengl patch and my frame rate
is only .26 fps its like watching a very slow slide show.  Something
is clearly amiss here ! my machine is a

Celeron 333a O/C 'd to 500mhz

CL Riva TNT with Hercules Drivers the OpenGl Driver version is
4.11.01.0109

64 Meg RAM at this rate I'h going to have to stick with TOCA 2.

I've tried other OpenGL games (WW2 Fighters) and everthing is OK frame
rate wise.  I have also tried lowering the mirror refresh rate in GPL
Core.ini

If anyone has any ideas then please drop me a line

I had this same problem after getting back into gpl a month ago.  The
problem is with your TNT drivers - for many people the Detonator
drivers don't agree with gpl, and you'll get a very delayed response
within the sim (slow mouse, and when you finally get in the***pit,
everything is as you describe).

The solution is to completely uninstall the Detonator drivers.
Reinstall the latest non-Detonator reference drivers of your choice
(be they from Nvidia, CL, Hercules(?)...).

Sounds like you're running using MS's software OpenGL driver, and not
NVIDIA's hardware accelerated ICD.  Is this a Win95 or Win98 machine?

Thanks bill

mmmm not sure about uninstalling the datenators though, in all my
other software I've been really pleased by them. I think this may be a
GPL only problem.  I may have to be nice to my wife (she has an AMD
333 with a Banshee ! If i'm a real good boy she may let me install it.

Regards Mike

Eric, I've had similar problems with GPL and my STB V4400 TNT card...

You mentioned "Sounds like you're running using MS's software OpenGL driver,
and not NVIDIA's hardware accelerated ICD.  Is this a Win95 or Win98
machine?"

How can you tell if your running MS's OpenGL driver vs. NVidia's?

I'm running Win98 and have the Detonator drivers loaded.....

Thanks
Jay J
