ICR2/N2 track versions

by Jan Koh » Sun, 26 Mar 2000 04:00:00

I've put together a small little online guide from memory to help anyone
wanting to know what track
versions you need for various tracks with the GPL converter.  You can get a
more detailed breakdown
from Alison's site for ICR2 versions...

ICR1 - original version, all tracks that came with ICR2, and here they
are...
Also re-released as "Sierra Classics".  Note, the Indy track that has been
passed around time and time again came from a separate release, the
Indianapolis 500
'track pack'...

AUSTRAL            MLWAUKEE
CLEVLAND        NAZARETH
DETROIT            NWENGLND
ELKHART            PHOENIX
LAGUNA            PORTLAND
LONGBCH           TORONTO
MICHIGAN        VANCOUVR
MIDOHIO

ICR2 - same tracks with revisions, no Rendition support in original release
(no longer available)
ICR2 Rendition - next release of ICR2, had these tracks changed to Rendition
(no longer available)

ELKHQ
LAGUNAHQ
MICHHQ
PHOENXHQ
PORTHQ

CART Racing - included DirectX & Rendition support, same tracks as ICR2
Rendition above with Win95
installer (still available)

NASCAR2 - original release after NASCAR Racing, included these tracks -

ATLANTA        NWENGLND
BRISTOL        PHOENIX
CHRLTTE        POCONO
DARLINGT    RICHMOND
DOVER            ROCKING
MICHIGAN    SEARSPT
MRTNSVIL    TALADEGA
NBRISTOL    WATGLEN
NCHRLTTE    WILKES
NRICHMON

NASCAR2 BGN track pack - Dave has a few errors on his site as to what was
available with the BGN track pack,
Heartland and Mesa are Craftsman Truck tracks, BGN does not run
there...there were several updates to NASCAR 2
tracks in the BGN track pack, only the new tracks are shown here...

BULLRUN        CALIF
REDROCK        GATEWAY
HICKORY        SBOSTON
IRP                    MILWKEE
TEXAS            MYRTLE
NASHVILL    NAZARETH

NASCAR99 - this is by far the best CD to get with ALL the different versions
of tracks, as if you go to the NROS
directory on the CD you can get everything from N2/BGN, plus all these new
tracks...The version of Searspoint in the NROS directory is the old layout,
while
the new layout is installed with NR1999.  (still available)

evergrn        lasvegas
fleming        louville
heartlnd        memphis
homestd        mesa
i70                pike
irp                portland

NASCAR Craftsman Trucks (separate release).  Has only the tracks that the
trucks ran
on, including all the above.

NASCAR3 - The only new track with this release was Indianapolis (the
Brickyard), but
with revised layouts for several others (Sears Point now has the wide
coned-off area in old
turn 11).

NASCAR Craftsman Trucks (for NASCAR 3) - the only new change from this
should be
the change of Portland Speedway (an oval) to Portland International (road
course) so a new
release of the old ICR2 Portland, and possible pit road changes for
Martinsville (all one pitlane
now).

Hope all this helps...

Cheers!
