Thrustmaster GP1 problem

Thrustmaster GP1 problem

I am having a problem with the accelerator which I believe comes from
the GPI wheel.  The engine (in GPII or IC) misses and doesn't respond
like it used to.  I am guessing it might be the potentiometer tied to
the accelerator paddle.  Has anyone experienced this?  If so, what is
the fix.  Thanks for any suggestions.

Here's my solution:

On the back of the wheel remove the plate. Keep it off.

Get some tv control tuner cleaner at your local elec. store.

Spray a tad on the pot and recalibrate. It should be just like new.

The pots on the GP1 are pretty unreliable.

You'll probably be squirting this once or twice a month.

You should check all your settings. N2 works pretty good for finding glitches
in the pot. On the calibrate screen watch the arrow move as you use any of
your motions on the wheel. It should be smooth as glass and stay consistent
and not jump akwardly around. If you get a jumpy effect that pot in which your
using is in need of a squirt.

I have also experienced 1 unit where the pin connector off the wheel to the
base was for some reason easier to pull out than the rest. Now it didn't pull
out but it was loose enough to lose some connection. I simply bent all the
pins ever so slightly to snug up that connection.

And finaly if you like a looser or tighter wheel you can easily remove the
hood and adjust the bungie cord, if you have those type of ties to clamp the
cord around the *** pulley. This is useful if you like a tight feel, since
the use of the GP1 will make the steering looser over time.
