GP3 - E-X-T-R-E-M-E-L-Y slow starts?

Anyone else notice how unbelievably slow the action is at the start of
and on the first turn of a race in GP3?

If you skip qualifying and start last on the grid watch how slow the
cars in front of you get going when the starting lights go off,
notice how  you can burn your tires (like in real life) for a fast
start, but all the AI cars just slowly start rolling without any
burnouts of sense of speed, and then once everyone reaches the first
turn it usually ends up like a parking garage, with all the cars
CRAWLING around the corner at close to 0 mph, what's with that!!!

At first i thought it was just because of a bad framerate or something
because when i first downloaded the game i installed it on my old
backup computer which is only a PII 350 with an ATI AIW 128 card, so
then i tried it on my main system which is a PIII 800 with 256 megs of
ram and at Geoforce, yet still had the same problem, the cars crawl at
the beginning of races. I also noticed how even when things spread out
and the action speeds up that often when you attempt to pass AI cars
or lap them they'll slow right down like wimps in corners and nearly
park while letting you go by them, how that for realism? not my idea
of fun.

God bless warez for letting me try this stinker of a game, unless i
hear of huge improvements when the full version hits stores i'm not
going to part with any of my cash, i'll stick to F12000 for now, and
even thought it's no masterpiece either it is certainly much better
than GP3.

The guy has a P3 800 and 256 Megs of Ram and he has to turn down graphics
level?  Ouch.  What is wrong with these programmers of late.  There code is
obviously not very good.

I don't think the guy is describing a low framerate or the slomo
effect. It seems to me like he has the AI a amateur level.
I have no slowdown from the back of the field on my little
PII400/TNT1. And this on a beta! ;-)

Yeah, it's slicker than snot on my PIII-450. 10x7 everything on. I was expecting
to have to upgrade.

Check the processor occupancy, it is probably far above 100%.

As opposed to F12K, the friend of all sub-par (under 800 Mhz) computers!

I agree.  Had the same problem till I set the CPU occupancy. Turned
out I was running at 200%.  When driving just hold down the "O"
(letter) .  The number should be below or close to 100.

That one design feature is above all the main reason I would
never buy the game. I promised myself that after GP2...

Before you download GP3, you need to get a striped jumper, mask and a mail
sack with "swag" written on the side of it
