ICR2/CART damage mode bug

Hiya,

It seems that one or more persons in the ICR2 offline league IIRS have
been experiencing a bug (with ICR2?  Say it ain't so!) regarding the
damage.  As prescribed by the league, the damage is supposed to be set
on "arcade" -- but sometimes when you enter the race it automatically
switches back to damage "none".  I vaguely recall a discussion on this
very topic some time ago here on r.a.s, but I don't remember if there
is a solution -- a trick, or a patch or whatever to fix it.  I am not
experiencing the bug myself, so I can't really give more detail.

Is anyone out there familiar with this?  Is it possible to alter the
gameopts.cfg file with a hex editor or otherwise to keep it on
"arcade" damage?

Are you folks running a season schedule or single races? If you are
running a season, the damage model needs to be set before the season
begins. If you change it mid-season, it will always revert to the
option selected at the beginning of the season. As far as workrounds
gom, I have no idea.
