Nascar2 locks up....HELP!

Just got this sim. The game locks up right after the intro movie.
I have tried both with/without univbe loaded. Done both a
max and minimum install. Used pre-patch and patched version.
STILL locks up at "Papyrus" screen.

Running a Cyrix 166+, Mystique 4mb video, 32mb ram,
8xCD.  Any help would be appreciated.
