Nascar - Brickyard track

I have a friend who's playing Nascar Racing and he says he doesn't
have the Brickyard track and he really wants it.  He's a CASCAR racer
who's had a major accident and he's still recovering from his
injuries, so he really likes to play NASCAR until he gets back to
work.  Would anyone here know where he can find the Brickyard track?
He said he has heard about it through nascar racing leagues but he's
not too familiar with Internet so he's asked me to try to find it for
him.

The only way you can get the Indianapolis track is if you or your
friend have Papyrus'  "Indy Car Racing I" and the ICR1 "track pack"
produced for this game. The track pack includes the fabled "Brickyard"
track.

There is a freeware utility that can convert the Indianapolis track
from ICR1+track pack for use with NASCAR *and* IndyCar
2. (you can also get converters that convert NASCAR tracks for ICR2
use and ICR2 tracks for NASCAR) You can find the utilities and a lot
of helpful information via this link:

http://www.racesimcentral.net/

The utils were created by Gerhard Ligenberg and they work like a
charm.

However, if you don't have ICR1, then your friend's outta luck. The
track pack for ICR1 has since been pulled fom release, (Papyrus'
disputes with Indianapolis) and finding them in the states
is quite rare. I've heard  that European software
distributors/mail-order can find it for you.

Technically, it is still copyrighted software. And if you find it on
the NET, it's certainly illegal. Most of major racing fanpages will
not carry the file with their pages becuase of the copyright issue.
And to my knowledge, few of the racing leagues/ladders actually use in
in competition. Good luck finding it!

I have ICR1, but I don't have the ICR1 track pack you're talking about.
Is it still available somewhere?

I don't use illegal software, but I sincerely hope it is not the only
way left for him to get that track!  If anyone sees it near Montreal
(Quebec) or somewhere we can order it, I'd like to know...

Oh and by the way, thank you very much for your answer, Typhoon!

Who is this driver and how is he doing?  I watch some CASCAR when they
have it on TSN here in Halfiax NS (TSN showed some many NASCAR races
this year, it was great!!).  We have a great MASCAR series down here,
it would be nice if we could get a CASCAR race down here!

His name is Martin Daviau and he's doing fine right now considering
he's been paralyzed for a month or so...  I don't know how long he's
been in cascar, he's one of my old friends and I hadn't seen him for a
while, I was very surprised when I learned it...  Last time I had news
about him he was living in vancouver, building houses, playing music
and having kids...  Things change!  He said he could have me drive a
car sometime...  I hope he's honest, can't fool around with a persons
feelings like that!  Tell me if you know him, ok?  Bye!

I think it's impossible to have it near Montreal

I search everywere and YES the only way is to use the illegal software.
I know it's not the best way but it's the ONLY way.

Thanks a lot

Heheh, Alright buddy, another fellow Montrealer! WOHOO! You like
Barrichello too? I don't know why, I just like the game. Man, every
time I go to Bibliauto, I always want to buy something of his. I
already have the Barrichello hat from the Grand Prix. He doesn't come
close to Villeneuve, Carpentier and Zanardi, but hey, he's cool.

So you only play Nascar? I tried it, and I do like nascar racing, but
I can't really get into the game at all. I prefer GP2 over any game
that I've tried so far.
