Broken springs

I have had 4 springs break since July, 3 gas and 1 brake. I originally
emailed Thrustmaster and they sent me 6 springs. Now that I'm down to my last
2 springs, I emailed them again. Within 24 hours I recieved a response that
the replacement springs were on the way.

I questioned them if they were looking into a fix for this problem or a new
design. No answer was encluded in the return email, so the answer must be
no.

I too had looked everywhere for a replacement spring. Nobody had anything
close. So your best bet is to keep spares.

Yep! Thrustmaster support of their products is great. I too was able

included my problem and home mailing address and received the same
response. One week later to the day I sent the email request, I
received two springs in the mail. One for the gas which was what broke
on mine and a spare for the brake (its a little heavier gauge).

Thanks Thrustmaster!

Hi there 0 my spring broke in my f-stik pro, I talked about it on the net
& someone from CH mailed me saying they did not like tohear thattheir
springs break, send thegimball & 10 Dolla & they will fix it
(cos I could not find a proper replacement for the spring I
canabalised an olf j/s & used a spring out of that, & yes yoiu guessed
  I brock theshaft :(  )

So I mailed itto thestates & 3 weeks later received what looked likea
  brand new j/s)

Ring the j/s manufacturer & ask them.

One more thing, I don't understand you comment when you say

keep spares ???? - If onecant get replacements how does one keep spares

Joel, did you know that if you put something like a "stopper" on the pedal
plate underneath each pedal bracket to prevent full extension of those weak
spring, WILL
definitly prevent furter break downs.

I've done this since mid May, and no more break downs. What i've put as a
"stopper"
is a piece of hard ABS plastic that is about 1/8 inch thick (the thickness
of a 1.4M
diskette) and secure it with rivet (or use sheet meal screws) underneath
each pedal
metal bracket... IT WORKS!

Then all you have to do is recalibrate your joystick for your favorite
game.

Another trick for those who have trouble with breaking lockout, when
calibrating the break pedal --> don't fully press completly the brake pedal
(with try and error method
and using later the PERFORMANCE GRAPHIC ANALYSER, try to get 92-95% braking
when fully braking.  It will extend the braking distance by 5 % (hardly
noticeable) and will save your tires in race session. Even at 95% braking
power i still
can outbreak opponents in PRO & ACE level.

For the accelerator (when calibrating) actually put all the weights on that
pedal and you'll get 100% acceleration very easily with no efforts when
racing.

Hope it's of some help have fun!

You guys are lucky. I broke mine and it took three weeks to get to Canada.
At least they sent 7 springs. I think it finally time to move to a T2.

I agree too, problem is that I have had springs break twice during
league races on hawaii.....I now always have some *** bands and
duct tape next to me.  It may sound crazy but I have salvaged a top
five finish on a 45 minute race on hawaii by duct taping the pedal to
my foot to finish the race....(Every point counts!)

I agree with you on their customer service. I just had a spring break
and called them up and their sending me new ones. No questions asked. I
also told the guy that the steering was not as tight as when I first
purchased it and he told me he was also sending me the bungee band that
gives the steering its tension. If anyone else has noticed this problem
with theit t2 I'm sure they would send you a new one if you called
them. Hats off to THRUSTMASTER!!!

ThrustMaster's support is second to none.  Nobody beats their service.
