The boys sure got a kick out of that one when I finished 3rd, those were
the days... Quake2, meditation and therapy take up a lot of my time now.
Hopefully N3 will have better native 'Internet' support so we don't have to
use 3rd party emulators/front ends. Not that they don't work well.... it's
just paying $xx.xx for a game these days only to have to pay $xx.xx/2 to be
able to play a non-LAN multiplayer game... or anyone remember their phone
bills in the early days of Hawaii?
Cheers

I might add:
The *** band idea has worked for me on my T2 for about two years...
EXCEPT I used *** bands I cut from a motorcycle inner tube. (An old
dirt rider's trick, cut them about 1/2" - 3/4" wide.) If you don't ride
cycles, try the local dirt bike shop, they usually have a supply of bad
tubes in the junk bin. One tube will yield a lifetime supply of ***
bands, and you'll be surprized at how handy they are around the house.
On my T2, those old inner tube bands keep going, and going, and going...

I've been making my own springs using .062 welding wire. Tried a variety of
different materials; steel, inconel, & titanium. You can find these at your
local welding supply outlet. Titanium will last longer but it's a little
light on tension. Use a 3/8-16 threaded fastener to wind the torsion coil,
I made a jig to make this easier, but you can do it without one, it will
take a little practice. Make identical replacements for the gas, but since
the brake spring wire diameter is a larger oddball size, I use four springs
with only single winds to gain the adaquate tension. Good luck. Tom.
