T2-Broken Spring

Hello fellow racers,

I seem to have just experienced the famous "broken spring"
plague with my T2 by thrustmaster. While gunning down the back
straight at phoenix my throttle stuck wide open. I was actually able
to slam on the "emergency brake" with the P key and escape and save my
race. I opened up my T2 and discovered a crack and bend in my throttle
spring thus releasing it from its position and making it fail. Upon
tryin to straighten, aprox. 1 inch of the spring broke off. I quickly
fired up my news reader "agent" and sifted through my saved threads
regarding the T2 and repair realizing that I must have purged all
previous posts on how/where to get the fix for this. I did get on the
web and locate "thrustmaster's" page but upon further search could
find no specific instructions on how or what to obtain for fixing the
spring (s) in my T2. The links all refered to the T1 which I assume is

address and have sent them a request for a fix. Is this the correct
procedure? The spring seems to be pretty basic. I am wondering if
anyone found such a replacement that would fit via a local hrdware
store, ect... Also curious how long on the average till thrustmaster
will send out a replacement and how much do they usually charge?

Thanks to all who can provide info.

server doesn't always get new posts till days later :( .

You will recieve it free of charge and it will arrive post haste.
THrustmaster has the best post purchase support I have ever come in
contact with. I have had this happen 2 times(guess I should get a life
and stop playing this game so much!) and they have always sent me the
parts very quickly.

Ron,

Don't fret.  Get out your paper work and give them a call, the number I
had was changed and the recording gave me the new number.  I hadn't even
had a chance to send in the warranty card when the same exact thing
happened to me.  They asked me for my name and address and within 3 days
I received two new springs, one for the gas and one for the brake.  The
stiffer one is for the brake.

I tried 2 hardware stores, Home Depot, and a specialty shop.  None of
the places had what I needed or even came close.  I found some spring
stock that had close specs in terms of thickness and diameter of bend.
So I tried fabricating the spring, but it just didn't work smoothly
enough.

Give them a call, it's the best long term solution.  The real concern is
will this keep on happening or has the fatigue failure been addressed?

Regards,
John
