T2 broken spring.

My brakepedal spring gave up last night, I've read before (I think..)
that people has got replacements from Thrustmaster for free, am I
correct on this?
Where do I turn to get them, does the age of the wheel matter, will I
get a confirmation from Thrustmaster that the spring are on their way,
does it matter that I'm in Europe, a lot of questions, hope someone can
bring some answers.

/Regards Stefan

I don't know about the Europe part, but I simply went to their
web site's T2 tech support area, and they have a form to fill
out (they kind of expect you to have the spring problem; when
I wrote my "description of the problem" I wrote it as a song
to the tune of "Pop Goes the Weasel" ("Snap Goes the Pedal").
I think there was an automated email response, and then a short
time later, the new springs arrived in the mail -- this despite
that I'd bought the T2 more than two years previous, well beyond
official warranty period.

Getting the new spring on was quite a task, I'll tell you now.
But at least I was able to get it fixed just a day before GPL
came out!

To add to Ron's reply "I don't know about the Europe part" :
I live in The Netherlands and had new springs within a week. For free.

Stefan,

Just go to http://www.thrustmaster.com, find the support page, and fill
out the form.  I got my new springs in about a week (here in the U.S.A.,
might take a little longer for you).

Good luck,

Dave Ewing

If u want something to get it working b4 your new spring comes I found
that a bicycle spoke bent round a metal bar of the right size to do the
trick. It wont last for anywhere near as long as a proper spring and will
probably feel a little weak but it is a handy alternative to keep u
driving :-)
Or u can use a long straight spring attached to the spring stop on the
pedal and the other end poked through a drilled hole on bottom of base.
