Just wondering if anyone knows of any brake markers that have been done for
Silverstone in GPL?  Having trouble with Club...
Thanks.

Yeah, those are three unpleasant little corners.  Club is really bad because
the braking point isn't marked on the racing groove.

Got if figured in the end though, I'm now using the advertising hoardings on
the left as a brake marker.  Seems to be working, did a 1:28.88 in the Lotus
:)

Actually, I don't have much trouble with Club - I was just responding in kind.
I use the billboards you mention, but I'm nowhere NEAR 1:28.  I *do* have
problems with Abbey and Chapel, though.  I can never get a line through there
that's both smooth and confidence-inspiring.  I'm sure that's where I'm losing
most of my time, because I usuallt coast through both turns.

Well, I don't think you could describe my lines through Chapel and Abbey as
smooth :)

For Chapel, I try to get as far over to the right before turning in, which
isn't easy in itself, and instead of braking, ease off the gas and turn in
agressively.  It has to be quite a significant ease-off to make the turn
though.  You actually want to go quite close to the inside of the turn.

For Abbey, I just slam on the brakes, give the wheel a big yank to the left
and hope for the best :)

The one thing I notice about your GPLRank times is how many times are done
in slower cars, 1 x Cooper, 2 x Brabham, 4 x Ferrari.  While that's very
commendable, a little time in a Lotus could see you improve on most of those
times.  I know it's a bit sad to have like I do, 10 times in the Lotus, but
it is a faster car.

Well thanks!  Most drivers I've seen have 9+ of their best times done with one
car.  I've wondered if it was a good thing to have so many different marques in
my best laps table.  However, on some of the tracks, my Lotus lap is much
slower than any other car.  It might be 'inherently' faster, but only if the
driver is good enough to take advantage of it...<g>
