Logitech's web page says "pedals are programmable", does this mean
gas/brakes can be set on different axis?

Does the Formula Force support sep. axis?

For now, it's a global setting in the control panel. In future revisions of
the software, it will be settable on a per-game basis, for the older or
arcade-style games which don't support separate pedals.

I have this controller.  Yes, the gas and brake pedals may be put on
separate axis.  But I would recommend you install some stronger springs (as
others have mentioned) if you purchase this wheel.  Otherwise, everything is
fine.

Really?  I just made a comment on this very subject at the force-1.com
message board earlier today!

A bit off topic, but can you easily replace the Logitech's pedals with other
pedals one might have? Are they just plugged in with a standard D-connector
or do they have a custom connector? I'm thinking of replacing the pedals
with my CH Pro Pedals, if I decide to buy the wheel..

I haven't opened the case yet.  Someone else made a post and said it was quite
easy to do.  One day, when I get some time, I'll do the same thing.
Oh by the way, congratulations to Mika Haakkinen.

(Although I'm more of a Mika Salo fan myself)<grin>

No.  the transformer connects to the pedals not the wheel.  The cable to the
wheel connects using a 25 pin serial connector and hooks up to the computer
either with a 9 pin serial or through an included adapter to a USB port.
The cable carries the power to the wheel unit motor so I doubt there is any
way to replace the pedals.  And I recommend not changing the connections
with power to the unit.
