Are you using the standard heat sink fan combo? what's the board temp?

Tim. I am thinking of doing the 300A overclock upgrade. It looks like in
your experience about 3 out of 4 work fine. Problem is my luck always will
make me the unlucky 1 in 4. However I was wondering if you had any
experience with the success rate of the retail boxed 300A?? I have read that
they may have a better success ratio. I am debating wether to go with the
retail boxed 300A or buy from Computer Nerd - they test and sell those 300A
that have worked well at 450 for $240 on a Abit BH6 with a quality cpu
coller fan. Thanks for any info!  --- Steve

I did a bit of research
here.....http://scripts.cac.psu.edu/users/b/l/blc146/cele300a.cgi
and found that nearly all Malaysia week 40 retail CeleRons are
capable of running 4.5  x  112 .

It's too much work to put all he CMOS settings on here...i basically
read everything at http://www.bxboards.com.....excellent site.

I did install an extra fan to blow at the CPU and that's the only
change from my previous CeleRon   non-L2  cache   448Mhz.

Cheeers for now !

Hi,
I have had good luck with a Retail version 300A OCed to 450 for about
2 months now no problems. I would reccomend the Retail because the fan &
heat sink is well worth the 20 bucks extra. Also I added one more case fan
plus the little one I have always had on my V2 card. ( of course the power
supply fan blows out )
Also if you like this site..........
http://www.minotaur.com/
sells pretested to 450 Celerons for $168 ( retail boxed )
thats a good price as I paid 180 untested.
You can always find the Abit BH6 board for $99 at most places.
Good Luck have fun this is a great easy project with great rewards I think
:-)

Cya,
           Mike
