NR2002 multiplayer problems with GF4 Ti4400

by GLege » Thu, 16 May 2002 06:55:40

I've been having trouble with this game and I'm having a hard time figuring
out what's wrong.  When I start the game, and play it single player, I don't
have any problems.  However, when I start the multiplayer part of it, it
works fine sometimes, but lately the game will wig out. When you put the
mouse over each clickable item a small noise emits from the speakers.  This
is normal.  When the game freaks out, the sound that normally emits, does so
continuously, and the screen graphics go really big as if its trying to zoom
in on something.  I can't click on anything like that, and I just have to
hard boot the machine.

I've swapped out a few GF4 cards.  I started with the VisionTek Ti4600, then
I swapped that out for the PNY Ti4600.  Both had the same problems.  I
brought that back for the PNY Ti4400, and had a little better success.  I
thought maybe I'd try again, and just got the VisionTek Ti4400, and I'm
having the same problems.

I'm using the 27.42 drivers for the GF4 cards.
Rest of the system:
P4 2.0a NW
Asus P4B266 MB
SB Audigy
768mb PC2100 Crucial DDR ram

Any ideas

Thanks

Maybe something in your motherboard BIOS.  Try disabling video ram caching,
video pallete snooping, set the AGP Arpeture (sp) size to 128, maybe try
disabling AGP 4x if all else fails.
