Glint 3D: What is it?

More specifically it hardware accelerates texture mapping.  The
CPU still does geometry calculations unless the board also has a geometry
processor on it.  Well at least in the games boards that will be released
soon they won't.

Papyrus is supporting a few different boards including Glint based boards.

You need definitely either VLB or PCI, also the recommended minimum CPUs
are DX4/100's.  Though you might make it with DX/2.

The Glint isn't a standard but a graphics accelator chip made by 3D
Labs.
Creative Labs announced de 3D Blaster card some time ago.

For more info, look at their web-sites:
www.creaf.com
www.3Dlabs.com

The coming months will see more than one of these '3D-cards', using
various chip-sets, not just the Glint. One of them is de Diamond Edge.
Which one is best? I don't know (yet!).
