I am one of those who have complained about 'canned' spins in F1RS. I
also disliked the extreme slowdown on the grass.
I liked the driving experience so much that I have gone back to the
game a number of times. I have now revised my opinion of the game.
I am now running on 1.09 and I use a GP1 wheel.
I am not an expert, I don't have so much time to practice. I used to
play on Realistic Amateur and had no trouble winning at Monaco. I now
run on Realistic Pro.
I have been driving with NO ABS and NO wheelspin help. Because of my
dislike of the seemingly uncontrollable spins and the fact that you
invariably stop facing against the trafikk I had skid help on.
I was experiencing two problems:
1. When I did spin, it was uncontrollable and without warning.
2. The car wouldn't do a dougnut after spinning to get back on line.
I have seen others complain of the same.
I have now taken off skid help. I am very pleased with the result. Now
I get warning before a spin, first squealing then a skid will start
that I can correct either with throttle or steering.
Now when I do occaisionally spin off, I can put my foot down and spin
it back on line.
So now I am back and enjoying myself. I did a semi-wet 50% GP at Magny
Cours last night and despite running off about 6 times finished 12th.
So anyone still experiencing canned spins and having trouble turning
the car around check that the skid help is turned OFF!
Happy racing
