Any UK GPL'ers fancy LAN games?

After reading about the Aussie bunch who travel from miles away for LAN games I was wondering if any UK folk would show the same dedication in the name of fun.

There is also the chance of 'gate-crashing' one of the LAN-parties that tour the UK & just race ourselves while 14 year olds play Quake.

Worth considering or just too much of a *** lugging our kit for miles & miles?

I'd be up for it - not with 14 year olds playing Quake though :)

No problem at all Matt, it's a quality we are all entirely capable of ! More
so in GPL than most other things sadly.

Well, a three player looks possible so far, but I bet we are at the three
most far away points in the UK.

Just another 17 people to go ...

What about sorting out a UK only vroc race. A bit simpler....and we'd
all be driving on the left!

That sounds like a good idea.  Maybe you could go easy on someone who hasn't
raced online yet?

The LAN game sounds good as well although it does depend on where everyone
is.  I'm is Manchester BTW.

Cheers

Without wishing to sound too much like an AOLer. me too.

I've done some NASCAR (Hawaii) online but no GPL. Offline, I'm getting 1:31 at
Monza :) Only problem is that I'm stuck down here in Coventry.

I would be up for it as well, and I could guarantee at least another
GPL maniac to come with me. ( my brother ).
Where were you thinking of as a location for such an event?

I've already replied but I am also in bristol. Sounds like somewhere in the
midlands would be good for a meet.

Chosen location dependant, I may be up for that.

I'm still fairly new to GPL though (ie, the only circult I feel comfortable
with at the moment is Monza). My P.B. is a 1:29.4 in training, and 1:30.2 in
online racing.

I live in Merseyside by the way.

Rick.

We run UK only league races on Sunday evenings. At other times keep a look
out for one of the UK servers on VROC, they are excellent :)

A few of our members may be setting up a LAN meeting or two, if they do I'll
post details here to see if anyone is interested.
