Maybe N4 will make a decent aussie v8 sim?  The cars should skin up nicely
as falcons and comodes, if the GPL bathhurst track can be remade in N4...

just a thought
cheers

SODA 2! I'd be all over that! I still fire up SODA once in a while, even if
i'm stuck to software mode since it only had Rendition support. SODA 2 would
be very cool.

Ratbag Games' Leadfood was supposed to have a track editor... oh well.

(Not suggesting it could have been used for a Baja race!)

You can get games like that for F1 racing. But no Nascar yet.

And again Leadfoot is more of a arcade style game, unlike Soda.

Sounds like Midnight Club Racing for the PS2.

For me, I'd like to see a serious attempt at short track *asphalt*
oval cars.  Something like Dirt Track Racing / Sprint cars only for
asphalt.

Another one that bit the dust was the spec formula car (wasn't it
something like Skip Barber Racing?) sim that got canned.  Sigh.

I've driven almost all the F1 & CART sims out there and the 'big boys'
are fun - for a while (damn chicanes - ruin a good racetrack).  I'd
like to see life at the start of the career.

BTW, I picked up Open Kart and I'm not entirely sure what I think of
it.
