Hi Harmon !
I've acquired GPII last Friday in Italy (07/19/96) and I've just
tested it during the weekend. I've got a P150 + 16MB RAM + ET4000
2MB equipped machine (cbench VGA = 181 - SVGA = 50) and to tell the
truth I had to lower the details near the minimum to get a good
frame rate in SVGA (proc. occ. near 80/100 %). This however depends
on the track you're racing on ; as an example, Monaco is AWESOME
(lot of textures) but you have to lower the details even more that
other tracks (e.g. Suzuka).
In VGA mode (320x200) I had to exclude the sky and track textures in
order to "satisfy" my tastes (i.e., to get a good frame rate). However,
even the VGA mode is very good so I think you should find a reasonable
tradeoff between details & frame rate (but all is pretty configurable).
Just my 2 cents ...
Best,
Roberto
