F1GP/WC II - Graphics

Hi all,
I have been reading the posts on WC2 with great interest and was
wondering where all this new information has come from.  Also I am getting
worried about the graphics mode it is going to require the general
consensus seems to be that it will run in SVGA for the menus and VGA
for the game.  Well I only have  a VGA card and really object to paying
50 quid for a graphics card so that I can see the menus!  Also I have
a mono monitor so can I buy an SVGA card and use it with the monitor (it
can display 800*600*16 so I guess it should work for the lower resolutions).

[F1GP 2]

No doubt that will be thought of and you should be able have the
menus displayed on VGA or SVGA by choice. This is ONLY my opinion
and may not be the case. It is just possible that by now it is
fully expected that most people have at least an SVGA card. However
don't forget that VGA cards can display 640x480 in 16 colours and
so another option exists for the programmers. We'll just have to
wait and see. The waiting BTW - will amount to about 18 months in
all since the announcement for F1GP2 has been going on since the
beginning of this year!

Same thing.

I have heard (via this news group) that the release date is going
to be sometime in spring/summer 95. What will probably happen is
that it will be xmas 95 before we see it. :)
