1) An editor for Windoze is coming. Typical. Charge us for something
that should have been provided for free (Yeah, Papyrus can blow
me. $40 for a SINGLE track and an editor? What a crock!)
All this'll do is that nobody will write a better one and let
it circulate on the net. The program is called F1GP manager.
No word whether opr not it has a long-overdue track editor.
2) F1GP 2 is supposed to have changeable camera angles (a la Indycar)
and supposedly 'doppler' and '3d' sound, as well as 'digital' music.
I think this means CDROM only...not a problem, but given Microprose's
typical track record for lousy audio-card support (patches that were well
over ten months late-see XCOM I for details) this could cause a big
increase in SBlaster sales (I'd sell the world to get Digital Audio
in an F1 sim) BUT, here's the BIG question....
What card will have this? Only GUS can do stuff in 3D out of the box,
and assuming the GUS is the only one to have it, will it ACTUALLY
MIX THE SOUND ON THE CARD? Call iD and ask them about that one.
3) No demo, at least not connected to the WWW page's DEMO section.
Thoughts?
