F1RS on a P200MMx

Hello

I'm thinking about purchasing F1RS after playing the demo.  I have a P200MMx
with 64 meg of RAM and a Voodo Rush card (Intergraph) that has 2 meg for 2D
stuff and 4 meg for 3dfx stuff.

With this configuration, do you think I can run with most of the textures on
(except for the road :), have a full field of cars, and still get a pretty
decent framerate?  Would buying another graphic card do the trick?  Thanks!!

It runs fine on a P200 overdrive (from 133) with 4Mb Voodoo1, so you should be
okay. You can always turn off irrelevant things like the sky rendering if this
is not enough for you. fps are better on a P400MHz with Voodoo2 but it's still
very playable. IMHO it's one of only 4 or 5 sims that are worth playing. However
you may prefer to get Monaco Racing instead - it's the next generation of F1RS
but I do not know the minimum spec for this.

Yes, frame rate should be ok. I'm running a P200/32 MB/Voodoo1 with
almost all details turned on (only drawing distance one below max and
replays off) and 21 opponents. Except for the first corners, it's
smooth, especially since I patched the snd_cpa.ini.
BTW: why don't you buy F1RS2 (Monaco Grand Prix), which should be
released these days? Should run smooth, too.

This is from the "Unofficial F1RS Page" FAQ:

"Voodoo Rush Cards
There can be a problem with detection during installation, see the installation
section for more details.

It is important that you upgrade to the latest 1.07 or 1.08 version so that the
"saving and loading buttons" will work with this card.

It is also recommended you have your windows desktop in 800x600x16bit before
launching F1RS."

See the site at " www.f1racingsim.com "  for all the latest info about the sim.

Hope this helps you, it's a great sim and should run ok on your system.

Where I can find info about patching snd_cpa.ini? What does it help
anyway?

I have 166mmx oc'd to 200MHz, 32mb ram and voodoo1, and desperately
needing more fps's.

Thx in advance,
