In f1-2000, whatever the car I choose and whatever the setup I have, all the
others cars beat me in speed in straight line. Why?

Thanks           Guill

sack the driver !!

it is very CONCLUSIVE evidence that the
driver is at fault here :-)))

No you don't understand... I am playing in solo. It's the ai driver I am
talking...
You know like in hockenheim, when I go to the replay and look the speed of
the ai car... more than 350 km/h! For me in hockenheim the max is 317 km/h
only... whatever the car or setup...    Is it normal?           Guill

Lower your rear wing to about 3->5 degrees.

Makes it a bit difficult in the turns, but gives great straightline
speed.

Thank your for your answer but as I said, the Ai car still beat me in
straightline even if I have minimum wing...

Since you are saying that setup chnages don't help (yes I read the whole
post) it sounds like the problem I had with F!CS2K.  In F1cs2k I blamed it
on having F12K already installed. When I redone my system and and
reinstalled F1CS2K without F12K my top speeds went way up. So my only
suggestion is to try uninstalling and reinstalling the game.

Might be some controller issue. Be shure to recalibrate often.

You might want to check the calibration on whatever input device you are using
for the accelerator.  Perhaps when you have the pedal to the floor, the game
isn't seeing that.  Try short calibrating (only pressing the pedal 3/4 of the
way down).

I saw you had tried several setups...but I have to ask...are those the
stock
setups that shipped with the game or downloaded ones from the web?
I generally used the setups from Black Hole motorsports..although they
weren't the
Oficial bh guys.  IanPace I think had a very good set for my tastes...at
least I think it
was Ian...evey setup in his group started with IP...thanks if it was...

Thank you for all of your suggestions!

The setup I choose is in the the pc soluces magazine. I will try some setup
from blackhole motorsport and adamf1 and I will tell you the results. For
the calibration, I use de wingman logitech rumblepad. The left joystick is
for the direction of the car. It gives me the same control of a steering
because I have some analogic stick on this pad. Unfortunatly, the right
analog joystick is not recognize in this game for the throttle... So I have
to put the gaz and brake on separate button. I don't think short calibration
is in cause for the gaz because on a button: it is on when you press and off
when you release: there is no ? pressure on this kind of control... In most
of the racing game, I am able to put the left joystick for the direction and
speed control on the right.

So thanks again for all your answer... I will try the setup you told me.

Sorry guys but the AI beat me in straight line again. I have tried adamf1
and blackhole setups, the results is the same. Fortunatly I can beat the Ai
cars in the curves...!

FROM ADAMSF1:

Ive made my setups in a way that you will drive the fastest laptime
possible. Only, the cars in F1 2000 have got other setups which go faster on
the straits but are slower on a complete lap. The only sollution is to put
the wings down a little and to increase the final gear a little. Just try it
out and while trying youll understand the effects of these changes.
If you want to know more about creating and editing setups, visit my
homepage and go to the "How To Create A Setup" page...
