NASCAR 99 Multiplay: Wrong Cars!!!

Can any one help?  Here's the problem:

Both my buddy and I have cable modems.  When playing NASCAR 1999, I am
the host and he is the guest.  Our multi.lst are both the same , with
the exception that I am on top of mine and he is on top of his.  When
we run the game, all things are normal on my end, but her reports that
I am driving HIS car.  Any suggestions?

You have to have the exact same car set, even for the first 2 cars. The
host will have the first car, the guest will get the second car from the
list. That's the way it work with TEN so I presume it should work with
direct connect also. It might be a good thing to try.

So you race with a cable modem. Is this through a service provider (like
HEAT or Kali) or some sort of ISP trick? Just curious, I have a cable
modem too and I didn't think it was possible to play dial-up game with
Nascar 99.

We both have the same exact carset.  We are playing the game over
Kali, previously unplayable (too many blinking cars) until we got the
cable hookup.

Hi, I am using the original multi.lst to do multi races over a LAN and
sometimes, the cars get allso messed up, not just the cars but the names
also. The game runs OK, but every single machine has a diferent name and car
for the players. The problems was worst using other carsets, but it happens
also on the original one.

Not dialup, network games.

Cablemodem service is like being on a really big LAN.

Thus, if you search network games, if there's anyone in town hosting a network
game, U see him.

This is a new "feature" of Nascar 1999.  I reported it to Papyrus, and
they said they knew was a bug and to look for a patch.  That was right
after the game came out sooo.....

I had the same problem with N2. Get rid of the T_PLAYER and T_PLAYER2
cars. Delete them. Create your own with your name. Exchange your cars via
e-mail.
Put your car at the top of your list, have him put his at the top of his
list. It will
work!
