Nascar 2 or Nascar 99 Multiplayer

We have both Nascar 2 and Nascar 99 and we would like to play them over our
two computer network at home.  We thought we could run N2 against N99 since
we have both discs, however, we get a "zero, out of date" error when we try
to connect.  Is there anyway we can run head to head either with N2 against
N99?  Or is there a way to run head to head with just 1 disc (either N2 or
N99)?
Thanks,
Glenn

Only the hosting computer should require the CD.

Kenny,
Thanks, you are correct.   The problem was I was trying to run N99 on one
machine and N2 on the other.  We did a full install of 99 on the new machine
and run the disc in the slower machine.  Works beautifully.  Now if I can
just get a car set-up that will allow me to run faster than my kids!!!
Thanks,
Glenn
