Mike and Micheal, I found it by mistake... This morning came back in the PC room
with a blue screen (you know what i mean, hehe) it said press enter and bla bla
bla..
then it said, win98 has become unstable please restart (cold boot).
When i restart win98, the message it told me is the power management did provoke
the unstable condition by going on STANDBY, and asked me to turn it off, which I
did....
Then, i don't know why, tried SBK superbike, and VOILA, it started !!
Went to the Control Panel, and checked under POWER MANAGEMENT
and instead of having 3 sheme, i have 2 now which are:
TURN OFF MONITOR ---> was and is NEVER
TURN OFF HARD DISK ---> was and is NEVER
The other one, which I can't recall ( was remove from the boot error) is gone
I'm sure that's the problem.
Before they were all 3 at NEVER, but did went on STANDBY after some period
of inactivity, which I never understood.
If someone knows how to remove that ***y POWER MANAGEMENT completely, please
let me know... I'll scratch that...
Under RUN (from START menu) and type msconfig <enter> Then we have an applet
called System Configuration Utility, under STARTUP TAB, you'll find many
programs that can be turned off from the taskbar and start menu, one of them is
called LoadPowerProfile, and it's checked ON.
If I turn it off is it going to turn off the POWER MANAGEMENT under CONTROL
PANEL ? I'm affraid to try that one...
Anyhow, now SBK Superbike is running... just did 1 lap at Monza, difficult
indeed
at Realist mode with no help...This is the way I always learn a new sim, pays in
the long run..
Few things I've found, I can't go at 1024x768, only at 800x600, under either
vy SLI V2 cards or TNT card, you have the option from the game to switch video
cards..
Also in the CONTROLLER menu, I can't change the sensibility zone, everything is
full, that's strange...
Anyhow, now that I've told you, I'll go and learn the bike, I chose Neil Hodgson
Ducati, when he falls off the bike, after few tumbles, he runs back to the bike,
lift it with great difficulty, these motorcycle are way less than 400 lbs... I
think he needs
a good gym training... I use to own a Suzuki RG500 (2 stroke smoker/4 cylinder)
and it was so light to lift it... (hey, i was not suppose to fall, don't I ?)
ohh yes... the graphics are SUPERB !!
Good luck, and tell me if POWER MANAGEMENT is the trouble..
Cheers, Eric
