LOL ok maybe I'm starting a thread that will get me a slap or 2....

I seriously wonder if all the BS about how u are allowed to discipline
kidz these days is contributing to alotta the problems we see in society
these days with them..

Ok for the most part I am referring to this bit about no spanking.  U
can be charged for doin this these days.  Just telling junior NO...  I
don't think it works.  I'm in my 30's and have no kids, but i don't
recall anyone in my public school, or high school carrying guns, knives,
or disrespecting their elders like u see today..

And i think it carries over to our beloved online ***, with the
hiding behind a pc only makinem braver.  They can take pleasure in
screwing with everyone else with no risk of being held responsible or
receiving any form of punishment.

In the old days of Quake TF that i used to play the server Op's could
ban offenders indefinitely.  Sure some of the offenders would just use
another of Daddy's dial up accounts and rejoin, which usually led to
another IP banned..

Game designers...  how about giving these games/sims we love so much, IP
banning capability?
Would do wonders for the quality of ***, and probably teach some of
the punks a thing or 2.

Just my thots

<Much good snippage>

2 thoughts here.

1)  Most diap-ups have dynamic IP #'s, so unless the offender has cable,
DSL, etc. it won't help a lot.
2)  You gotta remember, this is the USA.  Nobody has any rights here
except for those who want to do what is wrong in the first place.  ;-)

Heh well i can actually remember the TF host i most frequented banning
whole neighbourhoods, and even schools +)

With so many ppl on hi speed connects which are static or at least
static for a few weeks at a time, it would be easier than it used to be.

Funny, you say you're in your 30's but I would have guessed by your writing
style that you were about 10.  If you want game designers to take you
seriously - try writing in proper English (or whatever language you speak).
Just my thoughts...

The suits that decide what goes into games and what doesn't are impervious
to any form of humour. You've got to pretend you respect their money to get
anything done.

Yes you could be correct there, however I'd bet alot of auto sim
developers with a real interest in the auto simulation genre will browse
this NG from time to time.  That doesn't include mario kart type
developers.

Whether or not they'd bother with all the threads I can't say, but i'd
be willing to bet that this NG has aided in racing sim development from
time to time.

Still my thoughts...

I was raised with a 'vented paddle' on top of the fridge.  I respected
my parents, never drank, smoked, or did anything stupid to get in
trouble...neither did my two siblings!  This day and age of two parents
working, no discipline, and such has brought the youth of the USA to a
lever lower than ever seen before!

when I was in school, graduated in 83, The worst kids did was get in
little school yard tussles or smoked in the bathroom!  Look what they
are doing now!!!  I think the media has alot to do about and they don't
seem to want to stop it either!

oh, I guess I should stop now!  I could vent on this topic for days!
and FYI, I just had our first child three weeks ago...heaven help me,
the wife, and most of all him!

late!

The media has changed you.

Crime is at it's lowest level in 30 years, yet the media has yourself and
most others convinced that everyone is out of control. They do it to sell
their TV show, their news program, papers, etc.

Well, there IS hope.  My kids still aren't quite ***s yet, but I can
assure you: when they're around ME they listen.  I started early enough that
they now KNOW that if I tell them to do something they'd better damn well do
it.  I don't think they fear ME, but they certainly fear the punishment.  I
routinely get compliments on my kids' conduct in public places.  Since
they've been about 2 years old they've been well behaved: they don't run
down the aisles and climb over furniture and they don't constantly whine
"Daddy, I want THIS.  Daddy, I want THAT."  That's not to say they won't
still be bank robbers, but for now they're pretty decent.
I totally agree that senators are doing their best (apparently
unknowingly) to undermine all parents authority by removing what little
leverage parents have.  I was raised with the threat of corp***punishment,
and I practiced it with my kids.  If it's exercised early enough there will
no longer be a need to exercise it in later life: they'll know you mean it.
There's NOTHING more damaging to a parent's credibility than to issue an
empty threat that's not followed through with.

Now, let's get back to RACIN'!!!!!
